There are so many products right in your kitchen cupboards that work amazingly as household cleaners, some even work better than those chemical filled cleaners you can buy in stores. Alison was struggling to remove stains on her laminate counter tops when she asked for a little help. Here’s her note below:
While I love my apt, my kitchen leaves a lot to be desired- yellowing laminate counter tops included. Not only are they just plain old and not pretty, but they also stain easily. One spot in particular has a lot of stains, likely the culprit of the nearby coffee pot.
After Lindsey checked out some ideas for me, I made a paste of baking soda and water (very little water necessary), slathered it on the counter like I was icing a cake and waited 2 hours.
When I wiped off the paste I honestly wasn’t thrilled or overly impressed, but then I looked at my before pic and realized the stains had lightened considerably (please excuse the bad iPhone photos). Perhaps if I had tried this 3 months ago when I noticed the stains my results would have been even better!?
All in all a good improvement and a good solution for stains normal kitchen cleaners can’t touch.
Not bad at all! I think the after is a huge improvement compared to the before photos. When replacing the counters is not an option and you have to make do with what you have this is a great route to take. A little research goes a long way. Great job Alison!
