I love this and I’ll admit, this is the one thing I’ve made in the handmade holiday series that was actually just for us to keep. I’ve been meaning to make these forever, I bought the glasses like five months ago! Also, linking up today at LWSL!
Grab two glasses from a thrift store or dollar store – any style you’d like. These two I grabbed at the dollar store. Find an image of a mustache and lips online to use as a stencil – I just googled each and then printed. If I was kind I would have saved it and shared with you. But I clearly was moving quickly, printed and closed them out without saving. Sorry…
Print to the size you’d like and cut out. For the mustache I cut around the perimeter with an x-acto knife, taped it to the glass and then filled it in with the black sharpie. For the lips, because I wanted to keep the space in the middle, I cut out the middle and then cut around the lips and traced the stencil onto the glass. I then filled it in with red sharpie, being careful not to color in the space in the middle of the lips.
You can use whatever colors you’d like, but I chose the traditional black for the stache and red for the lips. Once you’ve finished filling in the color bake in a 325 degree oven for 25 minutes. I placed mine in the cast iron pan standing up.
Once baked the glasses are safe to drink from and wash. Be sure to hand wash only. Well, actually to be honest, you might be able to put them in a dishwasher, but I don’t have one so I wouldn’t know.
Gift with a pack of beer, or bottle of wine, depending on what type of glass you used. If you chose mugs you could give tea or coffee or hot chocolate! Again, these were for us so I didn’t package them up all nice.
